FAQs

  • You can use my handy enquiry form to get the conversation started. All I need to know initially is:

    1. the location(s) of your map.

    2. Whether you’re after a necklace/brooch/cufflinks/wall piece.

    3. Any important locations within your desired area that you would like marking.

    4. Approximately how large you’d like the piece to be.

I offer a free 30 minute consultation for customers interested in commissioning bespoke wall contour maps, so can discuss all the options and details. This can be in person at the workshop in Sheffield, or via video/phone call.

  • Not at all!

I can extract contour data from anywhere in the world, so let your imagination run wild…

  • For bespoke jewellery pieces, please allow 3-4 weeks. For stone set jewellery pieces, there may be an additional wait, but I will advise on this.

Wall maps from the Landmark and National Parks collections will take between 2-3 months.

Bespoke contour map wall pieces usually take 2-4 months from design to completion, although this very much depends on the scale and detail of the map. I like to work very closely with the customer during the initial design process to ensure that we get the design and personalised elements perfect.

If you have a tight deadline though, sometimes it is possible to accommodate this, so just let me know!

  • If you have commissioned a jewellery piece, this will be sent to you Special Delivery via Royal Mail, well packaged including a fold out map of your chosen location.

If you have commissioned a wall map, you can either collect from the workshop in Sheffield, or if you are further afield we can arrange delivery. If you need your wall map delivered, I highly recommend that it is framed with quality perspex rather than glass, so as to avoid the risk of breakage and further damage to the piece. This could always be switched out for glass at a later date by a framer local to you.

  • The contour map jewellery pieces are hand cut in recycled silver, whilst the wall maps are laser cut in brass, which I either give an blackened finish, or buff up the brass to a satin gold.

If you have any specific requests for other materials, I am more than happy to discuss what is possible.

  • This really is down to you!

They can be as small or as large scale as you need.

  • Absolutely, simply mention this in the enquiry form/email to myself detailing the 2 different locations.

Have a look at these wonderful wedding cufflinks, one depicting their wedding venue in Italy and the other the registry office they married at in Warwickshire.

  • Of course! There are some lovely ways to use heirloom gold and stones within your contour map.

I have previously used customer’s own gold (from old wedding rings, in a sentimental piece in remembrance of their parents) as location markers, to highlight special places within their maps. Read about another example here, where we used the customer’s gold tuxedo studs as location markers.

  • Certainly! There are a few different options for this.

    A) the maps could be separate from one another, mounted within the same frame, like the National Three Peaks set.

    B) We could work together to blend the maps to create a ‘dreamscape’ of your chosen locations.

  • I accept payment via BACS or PayPal.

Payment for jewellery pieces is taken in full.

If you have commissioned a wall map, a 50% deposit will be required to begin the process, with the remainder payable on completion of the map.
