Owler Tor Contour Map Pendant
K chose to commission this bespoke map pendant for her birthday. It celebrates one of her family’s most cherished spots in the Peak District; Owler Tor, perched just above Padley Gorge, a stone’s throw from Longshaw Estate.
What makes it so special for K, is that amongst the beautiful natural gritstone sculptures are scattered the ashes of her mother & her husband. When she was a child, she spent a lot of time playing on the rocks here, later becoming a favourite place for her own children too.
This pendant is hand-cut in sterling silver, with engraved rivers (Burbage Brook + tributary), to a design of 10m contour intervals. An 18ct yellow gold granule pin-points Owler Tor.
