The highest point of the Helvellyn range in the English Lake District, a north–south line of mountains north of Ambleside, running between the lakes of Thirlmere and Ullswater.
Helvellyn is the third-highest point both in England and in the Lake District, the topography includes three deep glacial coves and two sharp-topped ridges on the eastern side - the iconic Striding and Swirral Edges.
Helvellyn was one of the earliest fells to prove popular with walkers and explorers. Among the early visitors to Helvellyn were the poets Coleridge and Wordsworth, both of whom lived nearby for part of their lives, finding great inspiration there.
The contours are spaced at 30m intervals, making for an extremely detailed and beautiful interpretation of the landscape.
The map itself is made from a single sheet of brass, which has been shaped by hand into the lay of the land, blackened and slightly rubbed back in places to reveal a warm golden glow.
Keep things minimal with a plain map, or make your map tell your story, by choosing from a range of different personalisation options.
