Scotland’s largest island in the Inner Hebrides, famous for its dramatic mountain scenery with peculiar rock formations and fairytale waterfalls.

It’s little wonder this ‘cloud island’ is so popular with visitors, here you’ll find some of the most breathtaking landscapes the UK has to offer, all within a 50 mile stretch. The island's peninsulas radiate from a mountainous hub dominated by the Cuillins, making the island appear from above like a winged creature (or a lobster claw, as I’ve heard on a few occasions!). 

From fossil hunting on the beaches, to climbing the craggy mountains, to partaking in whisky sampling at Talisker, there’s much to explore and celebrate on Skye.

The contours are spaced at 90m intervals, making for an extremely detailed and beautiful interpretation of the landscape.

The map itself is made from a single sheet of brass, with the contours laser cut through then shaped & finished by hand. The metal is blackened with the rivers and border of swirling sea engraved by hand, appearing as shallow golden trails cutting through the landscape.
